Minutes:
Chairman Sample requested a motion to approve the
minutes from the May 6, 2008 meeting. Member
Carpenter made the motion, Secretary Phillips
seconded, motion passed.
Correspondence:
Chairman Sample read and discussed a disciplinary
appeal. The FOP counsel will be contacted
and a hearing date set.
Chairman
Sample read a request from Chief Watson
requesting permission to hire the next two
eligible applicants from the Eligibility Register
if approve by the Board and Mayor. Secretary
Phillips made the motion, Member Carpenter
seconded, motion passed to hire the next two
eligible applicants.
New
Business: The Commissioners
discussed the testing date and tentatively set
the date for October 18, 2008, 9:00 a.m.
The
Commissioners set the swearing in date for two
new officers (if approved) for June 25, 2008,
1:00 p.m. in the Chiefs Office. The
academy begins June 28.

Business: None
Departmental Update:
The surveillance cameras
should be completed by the end of the week.
Chief Watson advised he
appointed an Accident Review Board which will
meet quarterly to review and recommend discipline
reference
departmental accidents.
Chairman Sample requested a
motion to adjourn (4:16). Secretary
Phillips made the motion, Member Carpenter
seconded, motion passed.
